The intermodal freight transportation system allows goods to be transported in ISO standard shipping containers. These modular cargo containers are made in standard sizes—the most common lengths being 20', 40', 48', 53'. Cargo is loaded into the intermodal container which can be easily transported by any combination of road, rail, air and ocean vessels. Container chassis are manufactured to permit trucks to carry ISO standard containers, iso generators, or tanks.
