Cheetah Chassis Corp located in Berwick is currently accepting applications for qualified WELDERS capable and eager to work safely in our fast-paced manufacturing operation. 

Pay:

Cheetah has some of the best pay rates in the area! Qualified Welders start at $20.75/hr.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

This position reports directly to the Welding Team Leader and is responsible for the welding of metal parts together using specified wire welding processes.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.

  1. Uses MIG welder to assemble fabricated metal products in an efficient manner to maximize production.
  2. Operates the equipment in a safe manner and reports hazards associated with the equipment or it's operators to the Safety Director and Maintenance Department.
  3. Produces strong penetrated welds that are smooth, non-porous, and consistent.
  4. Follows required procedures and uses appropriate jigs and fixtures to assist in the assembly process.
  5. Maintains/produces a level of output that will minimize production delays.
  6. Cleans and maintains an orderly work area.
  7. Communicates effectively with other workers to direct personal workflow.
  8. Assist other individuals in area when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

All job requirements listed indicate the minimum level of knowledge, skills and/or ability deemed necessary to perform the job proficiently. Employees may be required to perform any other job-related duties as requested by their supervisor.

  1. Knowledge of the welding process and equipment.
  2. Ability to weld vertical, flat, and overhead welds with a good penetration and a quality appearance.
  3. Ability to operate a plasma cutter and acetylene torches.
  4. Good communications skills relative to supervisor and other related departments.
  5. Math skills including fractions and angles.
  6. Ability to read tape measures and angle finders.
  7. Ability to read blueprint drawings and cut lists.
  8. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  9. Physical ability to work and weld in awkward positions such as kneeling, lying down, and overhead.
  10. Ability to climb and work from a ladder.
  11. Ability to operate various shop tools including power and manually operated wrenches.
  12. Trained in forklift and overhead crane operation.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position.
  • Hours of work for day shift are Monday through Thursday 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM. 
  • Overtime may be required.
